Faith UMC Holy Week & Easter Services 2009
Faith UMC invites you to remember Jesus' passion, death and resurrection this year with special services.
On Palm Sunday, April 5, the Chancel Choir will perform the cantata "The Cross" at the 9:15 am worship service. At 11:15, Pastor Jeff Motter will bring the final message, "Crucified," in the Lenten series "Reliving the Passion."
On Holy Thursday, April 9, Faith UMC will join with Trinity UMC, 112 W. South St., for a special Communion service. A combined choir will sing. The service is planned for 7:00 pm.
On Good Friday, April 10, Faith will host "The Stations of the Cross" from 6-9 pm in the Social Room. At 7 pm, there will be a Tenebrae (service of shadows) held in the sanctuary.
On Saturday, April 11, children from age 4 to grade 5 are invited to an Easter Celebration from 10 am to 1 pm. Kids will learn the real Easter story, experience music and games, do crafts and enjoy lunch along with an egg hunt all for free. Advance reservations are required; call the church office by April 8 at 12 noon at 937-692-8934.
On Easter Sunday, Faith invites you to celebrate the real meaning of Easter in services with the theme "Biggest Loser, Biggest Winner." Traditional worship at 9:15 am will feature the chancel choir and "The Hallelujah Chorus." Contemporary worship at 11:15 am includes our praise band. Sunday school is available at 10:30 am. Children's church is offered during the 11:15 service.
